Liberty Pine Crest is an independent editorial website about Christmas decor for American households. We publish practical, plain-English guides on three subjects: tree toppers, skirts and collars; outdoor and door decor; and non-brand ornaments. Alongside the guides we offer a free tree decoration calculator that turns a tree's height and width into planning estimates.
Why this site exists
Decorating advice online tends to arrive in one of two forms: glossy inspiration that skips the measuring, or product lists that skip the reasoning. Neither helps when a topper tilts, a skirt is two inches too small or an outdoor light string trips the breaker. We write for the moment before and after you buy: what to measure, what to check, what can go wrong and how to put it away so it works again next year.
What we cover
- Tree toppers, skirts and collars: fit, sizing, materials and safety around the base and the top of the tree.
- Outdoor and door decor: weather ratings, power planning, mounting, wreaths and doorway proportions.
- Ornaments: materials, sizes, quantities, safe hanging and storage, without brands or licensed characters.
We write in American English, with U.S. measurements and U.S. conditions in mind, from northern snow to Gulf Coast humidity.
How we write
The Liberty Pine Crest Editorial Team writes every page, and every page carries an "Updated" date. Our standards are straightforward:
- Facts come from published sources. Safety statements, such as keeping a tree at least 3 feet from heat sources, watering a real tree daily and using lights listed by a recognized testing laboratory, draw on guidance from the National Fire Protection Association. Product instructions always take priority.
- Rules of thumb are labeled. When we offer a design guideline, such as 100 mini lights per foot or a topper one-tenth to one-seventh of the tree's height, we say that it is a rule of thumb and show the arithmetic.
- No invented evidence. We do not publish made-up statistics, fabricated test results, fake reviews or invented experts.
- No brand rankings. We explain product types and how to choose between them. We do not rank named products or send you to a checkout.
- Plain language. We prefer short sentences, real measurements and honest trade-offs over hype.
How we are funded
Liberty Pine Crest currently carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we will label it clearly and explain it in our Affiliate Disclosure. Editorial decisions are never influenced by a retailer or manufacturer.

Corrections and feedback
If something on the site is wrong, unclear or out of date, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the page and the sentence in question, and a source if you have one. We correct errors promptly and update the page's date. You can also suggest topics: the best guides on this site began as a question from a reader.
Safety and responsibility
Holiday decorating involves electricity, live greenery, ladders and fragile objects. The information here is general and educational. It is not professional, electrical or fire-safety advice, and it does not replace the instructions that come with your products.
